Today is the day we celebrate our nation's birthday. We have been part of a noble experiment that, for all its ups and downs, has brought us to unparalleled prosperity. Good things can go bad. If this nation and the principles upon which it was founded are to survive, we have to reach back and remember what it is our forefathers fought for. We have to acknowledge our mistakes and our abuses...correct them and move forward. Otherwise, all of the time since the "real" birthday of this nation will have passed by without any meaning, without any real progress.
