Saw the Tractor

I saw the tractor I talked about in yesterday's post. Rode it around a bit, used the finish mower. The problem is that it doesn't have a front end loader, which is an implement I think I would find most valuable. And, it would cost me several thousand bucks to add one. So, my thoughts are that I should keep looking. And I saw a pickup truck that I may want to buy...only $1950 for a 1985 F150 XLT with a V8 engine, air, power windows, etc., etc.

By the way, George Bush is now planning to make a series of speeches to justify and build support for the illegal and immoral war in Iraq. I would love the opportunity to visit George with my new tractor, when I get it. The fascist MF!

You sound a lot like myself in your political leanings.
I grew up dirt poor and totally rural and other than my 4 years of military service I have never lived in a town of more than thirty thousand. I for the last twenty years have lived outside of a town of 800. I frequent the tractor and country living boards and some of the political opinions there quite frankly scare me to death. My wife and I like to joke that on election day it does'nt take long to find our names on the register as we are the only 2 in the democrat column. Kerry was no prize and I couldn't believe the Dems couldn't find a better candidate but I was still totally in shock when the lieing shrub won again. I am only a Dem because it seems to be the lesser of two evils.
I think that the death penalty has it's place but not the way it is used now, I believe that abortion is wrong, but that it is not my place to tell someone else what to do with their bodies. I cannot for the life of me understand how allowing gay folk to marry will have any effect whatever on mine or anyone elses life. I strongly believe in my 2nd amendment right to bear arms although I'll never understand the need to own an assault weapon. What many urbanites fail to understand is that in the country personal protection is pretty much up to the indivual. In my county there are 2 deputies and one state patrol on duty after 11:00 pm and unless you are extremely lucky response is 40 minutes to an hour away. Pretty much they show up to take pictures and haul away the body.
I sound an awful lot like a republican don't I? However I don't want the government in my bedroom or church. I am a union worker and supporter because if it wasn't for labor groups the robber barons with full government support and backing would make the 19 century look like a time of plenty. We need universal health care and a true national retirement system.
We are in more danger now from terrorists than before because of the shrubs crusade on nonchristian people. My biggest fear right now is that the Dems are gonna blow it again and run Hillary for pres.Personnally I think that she would be an adequate president( mind you I said adequate not great)but there is no way in hell the girl could win. Running her would galvanize the right middle America the conservative Christians and the neo cons like nothing we have ever seen. The best strategy for the dems would be to cut loose some of their far left suppoters and run a slate of conservative Dems and support left leaning republicans so that we can retake the government. Then after we regain control start to move left a bit. There is no way we are gonna undo the damage that the present crew is doing in 4 or even eight years.
enough of a rant.
